When it comes to lipstick, some brands are a joke, and others are your go to lipstick for work or a night on the town. For the lipsticks that are a miss, it feels as if you are throwing money out the window. While the lipsticks that are a success make you feel like you struck gold. But with all the lipsticks on the market, how do you choose the best brand?
Below I have listed the five brands of lipsticks which have come to be my “go to” lipsticks. I hope you will like them as much as I do.
MAC – This was one of the non-drugstore brands I purchased when I first got into makeup. The brand has so many shades, I could not possibly list them all. Their lipsticks last long, they rarely smear they rarely need touch-ups, and MAC is constantly coming out with new colors and . I really like their line of lipsticks, and would recommend this brand. COLOURPOP – Here is a brand which comes with zero low points. The lipstick has a thin lightweight formula, which will help it go on smoothly. It has a lot of pigmentation, making it nearly kiss proof. With all of this, the high pigmentation, the lightweight formula and the low price makes Colourpop the ideal colored lipstick. You can purchase these lipsticks at the following site: www.colourpop.com
NYX – By far, this is one of the better drugstore lipsticks. The lipstick is cruelty-free, creamy, velvety to the touch, and has a matte finish. They even do not dry out your lips and it is flattering to many skin tones. For example, one of their lipsticks, “Liquid Suede Lipstick” is a waterproof lipstick which sets to a smooth, matte finish lipstick. It is one of the best drugstore makeup brands on today’s emerging beauty trends, and it is a staple for anyone who likes wearing makeup or is on a budget. This is one more brand I would recommend. URBAN DECAY – When I first started wearing lipstick, I wore drugstore brands such as Maybelline, Covergirl and L’Oreal. Then I discovered Sephora and their exquiste brands. One of the brands they sold was Urban Decay. In my opinion, Urban Decays’ lipsticks have an ingenious lip formula. Their lipsticks have a wide variety of shades and finishes which gives a great laydown of color in a quick single sweep. With Urban Decay, you do not need lip pencils as the lipsticks do not feather or emigrate. Now, I will say this, you may have to touch up your lipstick after eating or drinking. Wrapping up, in my opinion, Urban Decay line of lipstick is fantastic. The variety colors, the way it feels when you put it on your lips and they way it is packaged. WET N’ WILD – What can I say about the Wet N’ WILD lipstick collection? Well, for the price you get impressive quality, no streaking, caking or feathering, and with a velvet feeling when applied. The lipsticks are highly pigmented, and have a powerful rich quality to the look. Growing up and just starting to wear the lipsticks by Wet N’ Wild, I did not find them all too great. Fast forward a few years later, when I had a better handle on good quality lipstick, I changed my mind. These lipsticks are a longstanding staple in the drugstore and with good reason. I consider these lipsticks formidable whether compared to drugstore or high end. You may find these lipsticks at the following website. http://www.wetnwildbeauty.com
These five lipsticks are on the top of my list of lipsticks all of which are reasonably priced, come in many shades which are virtually non-transferable and are well priced. These lipsticks are aces in my book.
BTW – I have a very good friend, Ashley Gaspard, who is also a beauty blogger, and a good one at that. Oddly enough, her current blog is regarding the proper way to apply lipstick. You can find this blog at www.MakeMePrettyPlz.com.
