Our clients come in all shapes and sizes and thankfully as a personal shopper and plus size stylist there are shopping options to suit everyone’s needs. At Styled by Sally we work with many women in the plus size range – size 16+ – and find that there is an increasing variety for our clients.
Here’s a low down of our favourite brands and stores, including online.
Sportscraft – we love Sportscraft for it’s classic cuts, beautiful fabrications and size range up to 22 in their core range.
Trenery – well cut pants, jackets and outterwear and beautiful knitwear with a classic but contemporary feel.
Jacqui E – what would we do without Jacqui E for the curvy ‘real’ woman. One word, wrap dresses!
Anthea Crawford – if you have a tummy to hide and big boobs to flatter, for a special occasion Anthea has you covered and is made right here in Australia (available in Myer and DJs)
Commonry – the new kid on the block, Commonry offers contemporary modern styles for sizes 10-22 and is stocked in David Jones Bourke Street.
Perri Cutten – Dressing Australian women for over 40 years, Perri Cutten are our go-to for feminine, tailored pieces made in Australia.
et al – a Melbourne designed and made label known for its luxurious cottons and knitwear and draped styles.
Elk – quintessentially Melbourne, ELK is our Melbourne fave for unique, interesting designs and patterns and we love their increasing focus on sustainability.
Feathers – effortless, timeless and comfortable for layering especially if you like lots of black!
Blue Illusion – did someone say ‘bengajean’ stretch pants and no muffin top?
Digbys – for over 40 years women have embraced Digbys European influence and passion as an expression of their own identity. Digbys devotion to innovative, clean, modern cultivation has not changed since its inception in 1972.
Tiffany Treloar – a contemporary Australian fashion designer making beautiful clothes for real women right here in Melbourne. Check out her designs (and those of others) at her Flinders Lane boutique.
Basque Curve, Piper Plus, Vero Moda, Forever New Curve – from corporate to denim to evening wear, these are our go-to brands at Myer especially for our younger plus size clients. We love that the Basque, Piper and Forever New ranges are just bigger versions of their ‘regular’ and petite sisters, so no compromising on fit and shape.
DAVID JONES
Levi’s Curve, Adrift, Commonry – again, we like that these brands create styles that are not ‘frumpy’ and shapeless like many plus size lines and are great for the younger or woman.
ONLINE SHOPPING
Harlow – sustainably made in Melbourne, Harlow are a breath of fresh air in the women’s plus size offering. Look out for Harlow Pop-Ups around town, or shop with ease online.
KHÒLÒ – the mantra, “if there is a fashion label out there, that is LOVING WOMEN JUST AS THEY ARE vs. MAKING THEM FEEL LIKE SHIT, then I’m in. Hello KHÒLÒ.
Styling You the Label – it’s all about the basics – but far from boring. Styling You the Label produce quality, easy-care pieces that make your everyday and travel style so easy, all made in Australia.
