As of my last update in Sptember 2021, I can recommend some popular and highly regarded brands that cater to individuals with dry skin. Keep in mind that product offerings and popularity may have changed since then, so I recommend checking more recent reviews and recommendations as well. Here are some trusted brands:
- CeraVe: CeraVe is known for its gentle, effective, and affordable skincare products. They offer a variety of products for dry skin, including moisturizers, cleansers, and serums. A great inexpensive cleanser for normal, dry and oily skin.
- La Roche-Posay: La Roche-Posay is a French brand that formulates products suitable for sensitive and dry skin. Their products often contain soothing and hydrating ingredients. I love this product.
It has helped my dry skin and helped me from looking older. - Eucerin: Eucerin specializes in dermatologically-tested skincare products, and they have a range of products designed to combat dry and sensitive skin. I am not a big fan of this product. You do not get what you pay for.
- Aveeno: Aveeno offers a selection of products enriched with oatmeal and other nourishing ingredients, making them suitable for dry and sensitive skin. I have not tried this brand and cannot contest to whether or not it is bad or good.
- First Aid Beauty (FAB): FAB focuses on skincare solutions for sensitive and dry skin, and their products are often free of common irritants. My husband uses this for his oily skin. While he still gets acne and redness, it is nowhere near like it used to be.
- Drunk Elephant: While on the pricier side, Drunk Elephant is a brand that formulates products with a focus on natural ingredients, making them a popular choice for those with dry skin. I truly like the Drunk Elephant cleanser. It is in gel format, and feels good going on my face.
- Paula’s Choice: Paula’s Choice is known for its science-backed formulations and offers a variety of products suitable for dry and sensitive skin. I totally love this brand. It may be somewhat costly, but you do indeed get what you have paid for.
- Neutrogena: Neutrogena has a wide range of products that cater to different skin types, including dry skin. Look for their moisturizers and hydrating cleansers. This was the cleanser I used as a teen. To this day, I use it. It takes away the dryness and avoids any oilyness.
- Bioderma: Bioderma, another French brand, offers gentle and hydrating skincare products suitable for dry and sensitive skin. Bioderma is perfect for those who have hyper-sensitive skin.
- The Ordinary: The Ordinary is well-known for its budget-friendly, straightforward formulations that can be beneficial for dry skin. They offer various single-ingredient serums that can be combined to meet specific skincare needs. I like The Ordinary too. You can try different serums and not put out a whole lot of money.
Aside from Aveeno, I have tried and/or used all of the products listed. I pretty much liked all of them (I like to switch products every now and then), but for Eucerin. Even though I have dry skin, I cannot get use to the texture.
When selecting products, always read the ingredient lists and choose those that contain hydrating and moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, ceramides, shea butter, and oils such as jojoba or argan. Additionally, consider reaching out to a dermatologist or skincare professional for personalized recommendations based on your specific skin concerns.
